Dallas Bethlehem Center Expands Food Program to Include Hot Meals

July 1 – The Dallas Bethlehem Center, a beacon in the South Dallas community for many decades, is now launching a weekly hot meal program. Any resident of the neighborhood can come on Fridays between 3 – 4 pm at DBC, located at 4410 Leland Ave, and pick up a 1 dish meal (like a lasagna). Each dish serves a family of about 8 people. No registration is required. Given COVID-19 safety concerns, arrangements have been made for drive ups and walks ups.

Dallas Bethlehem Center’s mission is to “Empower & Resource the South Dallas Community to Improve Lives through Education & Connected Solutions.” Its programming focuses on cradle to career education, food distribution, and signature community events like Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

When COVID-19 hit, DBC was prepared to respond to what the South Dallas community needed. While still in the midst of the crisis, the community knows it can turn to DBC to provide fresh food, a friendly face, and to listen to what the neighbors need. DBC is also ramping up to create a voter registration drive and a mobile testing unit for COVID-19.

DBC continues to be known as integral to the fabric of South Dallas.
